    • be a permanent resident of Queensland;
    • be aged 15 years or older;
    • be no longer at school (with the exception of school students in Years 10, 11 and 12 undertaking a VET in School (VETiS) program – see the VETiS fact sheet for more information);
    • be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen; and

    Additional opportunities may be available in exceptional circumstances where a prospective student does not meet the eligibility criteria for the program but circumstances indicate the objectives of the program will be met through a confirmed employment benefit. Additional opportunities will be considered (by the Qld Government) on a case-by-case basis upon request by a prospective student.

    As long as you meet the eligibility criteria, the Queensland Government will subsidise the cost of the education and training you will receive from the College of Health and Fitness for the following qualifications:

    The Queensland Government Certificate 3 Guarantee Program provides a subsidy but eligible students are required to contribute a mandatory co-contribution fee.

    A co-contribution fee is required from all eligible Certificate 3 Guarantee subsidised students. This co-contribution fee is a contribution to the cost of training and assessment services we deliver. The fee must be paid, either by the students or by a third party (e.g. employer).

    The Co-contribution Fees charged by the College of Health and Fitness are contained in our Learners Handbook.

    The User Choice program, under the QLD government, contributes towards the cost of training for eligible Queensland apprentices and trainees.

    So, instead of paying for the full cost of training, apprentices or trainees and their employers will pay a reduced amount.

    The College of Health and Fitness has been selected by the QLD government to provide training under this program.

    This funding will be offered to eligible trainees and apprentices who are looking to complete the following certifications:

    SIS30321 – Certificate III in Fitness,

    BSB30120 – Certificate III in Business

    HLT37315 – Certificate III in Health Administration

    A co-contribution fee applies. However, the co-contribution fee may be paid on behalf of the trainee by their employer or a third party unrelated to The College of Health and Fitness. The fee is calculated at the time of enrolment. It is based on a nominal rate per hour of each unit.

    This co-contribution fee applies for both Full Time and Part Time trainees.

    The College of Health and Fitness does not charge a co-contribution fee for school-based trainees.
